Where can I find the office of the Zell am See ski and snowboard school?
Our offices are situated directly at the valley stations of the cable cars Areitbahn, CityXpress und Schmittenhöhe. Next to our office, you can find an Intersport sports shop, where you get all your ski or snowboard equipment.
What do we need to bring on the ski and snowboard course
A complete set of skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots. Don't forget warm clothing, gloves, sun cream and we recommend a helmet, especially for children.
Do you have courses with different level?
We offer courses for beginners to most advanced skiers and snowboarders. On first day we form groups with similar skiing / boarding level.
Do the costs for the skiing course include the ski pass?
You have to buy the ski passes separately at the cash desk of the Gargellen mountain railways. Thus the costs for the skiing course do not include the ski passes.
Do beginners also need ski passes?
No, they do not. The first one or two days, beginners do not need a ski pass. The skiing instructors will, depending on your learning progress, advise you about buying a ski pass.
How do you form the groups?
On first day of lesson we will look at your skills and then we form groups with similar ability. If you are not happy with your group, it is certainly possible to change the group.
Do we have to make a reservation for group courses?
Usually, there are enough places left in group courses. Although we recommend you to pre book online, which makes it easier for us to enrol you in our office. Over and above you're saving money and we'll prepare everything for you in advance.
Do you also have foreign language speaking skiing instructors?
Yes. Our skiing instructors speak German and English. Many of them also and Dutch, Russian, Danish, ...! If you want to have a foreign language speaking teacher, please let us know! We will the try to do our best – but we can’t promise.
Can I just book one day and then extend the course?
Of course! However, it is cheaper to book more days at once. This means that it always worth it, to book the complete course. Nevertheless, the decision is yours.
Can I pay with credit cars in your ski school office?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, cash card and of course cash.
At what age are my children allowed to learn skiing and snowboarding?
For children from 3 to 4 years we offer MINI CLUB - half day lesson (2 hrs). For children from 4 years on we offer full day lesson - KIDS ON SKI course(4 hrs) For snowboard courses kids should be at least 8 years old.
Do we have to take a 5-days-course for our children?
Our programme for children’s groups is built on a one-week course with a ski race and a prize giving (certificate + medals) on Thursday. That’s why it makes sense to take part in the course for 5 days. However, it is certainly possible to attend the course for fewer days!
Do you offer half day lesson for children?
Basically, we recommend full day courses; group dynamics and learning progress are much better then. It is better to book fewer days, but full day courses if you, for example, also want to go skiing with your family.
Do you also care children under 3 years?
Children under 3 years will be cared for in the KINDERGARTEN. Whether it's forenoon, afternoon, or simply the whole day - our experienced nannies will care for your children: more informations
Where is the meeting point for children?
Please come to one of our skischool office and then we will advice you about the correct meetingpoint.
Can we put our children together in one group?
The division of the children primarily depends on their skiing skills and their age. If your children or their friends nearly have the same skiing skills, please talk to the person that makes the division on your first day and we will try our best!
Do I need to worry about lunch for my children?
No, that is not necessary! If you wish, we offer lunch supervision.
A meal, drink is included in the price of 12 Euro
Do the children need helmets in order to ski?
In Salzburger Land, helmets for children on the slopes are required. In addition, safety is very important to us. For this reason, all children under the age of 15 recieve a free helmet included in their rental.
If my child doesn’t like the skiing, do I get my money back?
Basically, you only get your money back if you bring a medical attest (illness, injury), but we have several offers to reduce the „risk“ for you as far as possible.
